Novaya Zvezda, CCI Fabrika, Moscow 2015

Collage (410cm in diameter) consisting of donated photographs from the archive of the independent Russian newspaper Novaya Gazeta. The newspaper is well known, as one of the few in the country, for its critical and investigative coverage of Russian political and social affairs. The images are showing everyday situations around Russia over the last 5 years, among with a selection of portraits of journalists who are (or used to) working for the newspaper.

Six Novaya Gazeta journalists have been murdered since 2001, in connection with their investigations.

Novaya Zvezda is a part of Joachim Fleinert's ongoing research The Russian Suitcase containing several project made in Russia in the period form 2015 to 2021.
