Born 1984 in Denmark. Living and working in Copenhagen.

Joachim Fleinert is a Danish lens-based artist. His artworks are very much seen as a result of random encounters in his everyday life and stand as physical proofs of personal journeys in relation to his own background as a Dane. His works are often a meeting between the digital and physical world that explore the photographic medium in connection to Danish history, national identity, and heritage.

His projects often include working with image material from lens-based medias and digital platforms that he convert into collages, animations, installations and sculptures. Pointing a gaze on the past Joachim Fleinert investigate how local and global historic events can be re-explored with today’s eyes and knowledge. By questioning the idea of Danishness and national identity, Joachim Fleinert's artwork want to discuss the past but also question how we wish to shape the future. With that his artworks work as a reminder, that the writing of history should always be discussed and put into perspective.

Joachim Fleinert graduated MFA in Fine Art Photography from HDK-Valand in 2021 and MA Photography from University of the Arts London in 2013, He have been exhibiting at institutions and venues such as, Pingyao International Photo Festival (CN), The Hasselblad Center (SE), Riga Photo Month (LV), Photoville (US) and The Photographers' Gallery (UK), NFT-NYC (US), Biannale.io and curated exhibitions in Metaverse.
